It looks like there isn't unfortunately, that'd be an interesting way to work: Create a new UV Map, get it all arranged, then start cutting as if you were painting a texture. You could also go into paint mode and paint right on the UV editor to make some straight lines and trace that with the knife tool. Best option probably. >>
